Tribute by Darryl Mori

This tribute is in memory of my dad, Isao Shimoyama (1925–2009), who was incarcerated in the Heart Mountain, WY, camp with his family and then served in the U.S. Army’s Military Intelligence Service. He was a proud veteran, and respected what it meant to have served his country while his own family was unjustly imprisoned in an American concentration camp. He faced a lot of racial prejudice during his life, but earned a degree from UCLA and enjoyed a successful career of more than 40 years as a chemist. He was married to my mom for nearly 58 years.
